NMIX6020 FInal Project
Create a dynamic, interactive website that demonstrates understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript while exploring new skills and techniques. Projects must include JavaScript and/or Vue functionality. Students are encouraged to experiment with APIs, showcase creativity, and invest significant effort – a culmination of everything learned this semester.
The final project will be graded qualitatively with a focus on achieving project goals. The emphasis is on “How awesome can I make it?” rather than simply meeting requirements. Evaluation considers thoughtful use of skills, adherence to best practices, integration of independent learning, and overall polish and quality.
Star Wars API.
I built a web experience that lets users explore Star Wars characters by choosing the Light or Dark side, or letting fate decide their destiny. Vue drives the dynamic filtering of API data into custom “Light” and “Dark” categories, with character cards updating in real time and images validated on the fly.
The destiny generator reveals a random character in a static display. Inspired by StarWars.com, the site features themed navigation, star-field backgrounds, and carousel slideshows, with CSS techniques refining layout, alignment, and animations for a polished, interactive, and immersive experience.
